St Kilda Shule Thursday Lunch Club – 8th August
Police, Freemasonry and Me
Sgt Rick Durra joined the Police at 19. He has driven the Brawler Vans at major sporting events and transported some of Victoria's most dangerous prisoners to court. He attended the Walsh Street Police shootings, Russell Street Bombing and Turkish Embassy Bombing. He has also worked as a Police Prosecutor at the Prahran Magistrates' and Melbourne Children's Courts. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant whilst serving at the Radio Communications Section (D-24). He has won numerous shooting events, including gold, silver and bronze medals in the World Police and Emergency Services Games. He is currently the Worshipful Master of his Freemasons Lodge, Mt. Scopus and Collegians Lodge.

In 1984, after completed her law studies at "Bar Ilan" University, Col Hanny was recruited to the IDF, where she served for 27 years .
She graduates from the Offices academy training course cum laude, and  represented the IDF at the  Knesset.
Her last position before retiring from IDF was Head of the Consulting and Legislation Dept.Col. res.
As Legal Advisor in the Military Advocate General Corps, she was for many years the IDF representative to the Israeli Parliament. 
In 2007, she was elected to be the Israeli Defense Attaché to The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxemburg, and 
the IDF representative to NATO.
In 2010 - 2012 she served as Head of the International Military Cooperation Department, in which position she formed close ties with senior officials of defense establishments all around the world. 
She was involved in making international relations policies and in initiating, planning and organizing activities with foreign forces: dialogues, visits and joint exercises.
