Living on the Gaza Border
In 2009, Aharon Ariel Lavi founded Garin Shuva, a community 5 kilometres from the Gaza border. For almost a decade, it has grown and thrived while experiencing numerous military operations and constant missile attacks. 
What does it look like to actually live there? How can a community thrive, and children grow in such conditions? And what hope for a better future can we generate through an ongoing conversation with people on the other side of the fence who share the same ideas? 
Aharon will share his story.
About the speaker: 
Lavi is a serial social entrepreneur, a professional community organiser and a thinker who believes Judaism can inspire and inform all walks of life. Lavi is co-founder of MAKOM: the Israeli umbrella organisation of intentional communities; and of the Hakhel: the first global incubator for Jewish Intentional Communities. He lives with his wife and four children next to the Gaza border and in his free time, he is a professional mountain biking guide.
