South Caulfield Hebrew Congregation- An evening with Yahya Mahamid
Yahya is a 23-year-old Israeli-Arab Zionist and an IDF infantry reservist. Born in Umm Al-Fahm, an Arab city in Northern Israel, and at a young age taught to hate Jews and deny Israel's statehood. However, he began to interact with Israelis which challenged the negativity. After realizing that he had been misled, he did everything within his power to combat negative stereotypes. After his nearly 3 year service in the IDF, he continues to share his story and speaking out for Israel
