SCHC - Bess Hymans Lunch & Learn with David Marlow

Uncovering their names and stories. Tracing 300 years of a German-Jewish Family.

David Marlow is the son of German-Jewish refugees who arrived in Australia just before the Second World War. With little family history passed down to him, David embarked on an extraordinary journey to uncover his roots. Through years of research and a moving road trip across Germany, he pieced together a family history spanning over 300 years. His discoveries revealed relatives in countries across the globe and shone a light on the lives of ancestors who served in wars, migrated across continents, and those tragically lost in the Holocaust.

David has documented this journey in a recently published book, offering a powerful reflection on memory, identity and resilience.
