The community's remarkable support has enabled the Kollel to produce non-stop, quality Torah study since its founding on Purim 1979. More recently, during the COVID-19 period, the Kollel has supported the community with hundreds of hours of online shiurim and learning reaching thousands of participants from across Melbourne, Australia and the world. Additionally the LIFT publication has brought Torah thoughts into the homes of thousands.
Our Alumni have taken up many noteworthy Rabbinic and community leadership positions, continuing to build the Torah-character of the Melbourne community.
The Kollel was founded by the Lubavitcher Rebbe through his personal Shliach Rabbi Y.D. Groner, the Head Shliach to Melbourne. The timing of our Kollel Giving day is in recognition of our founders and the significant dates of both Gimmel Tammuz and Daled Tammuz (the Yartzheit of Rabbi Groner).
